ONE LAST HUG

One last hug, it's time to go
for how long, no one knows.
A parent's heart silently grieves
when it's time for them to leave.

A kiss good-bye, a tiny smile
treasured memories for the miles.
Soon they'll step on foreign land
to fight for freedom in desert sand.

Battered by wind and burning sun
miles to walk toting guns.
Destroy and conquer, stay alive
war is hell, adrenaline drives.

The mission is to liberate
a better world may they create.
Their tiny children they ache to see
but they will stay until peace will be.
